Movement Disorders

These neurological conditions profoundly affect patients and their caregivers, making it essential to bring effective treatments and comprehensive support to those impacted.

Teva is dedicated to advancing care and treatment options for those living with neurological movement disorders, particularly Huntington’s disease (HD) and tardive dyskinesia (TD).

Huntington’s disease (HD) is a rare, inherited condition that leads to the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, significantly impacting physical movements, cognitive abilities, and emotional stability. Approximately 90% of individuals living with Huntington’s disease will develop HD chorea, a movement disorder marked by involuntary, erratic movements.01

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is another serious disorder, typically arising as a side effect of prolonged use of certain medications, particularly antipsychotics. TD is characterized by repetitive, uncontrollable body movements such as grimacing, blinking, and other facial or body movements. These symptoms can be physically exhausting and emotionally distressing, creating significant challenges for those affected. The unpredictable and often irreversible nature of TD adds to the complexity of managing this condition, requiring specialized care and treatment strategies for those living with TD.

Patients and caregivers share personal experience

Beyond treatments, Teva understands the importance of providing holistic support to patients and caregivers. Life Effects offers a wealth of resources, expert advice, and personal stories of living with tardive dyskinesia, Huntington’s disease, as well as other chronic conditions.
