Matt Racher, CRPS, MSW, RCSWI, is a mental health clinician and Certified Recovery Peer Specialist with a BA in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Barry University.
He combines his professional training and personal experience to help people with co-occurring mental health issues and substance use challenges through compassionate, community-based care.
Matt is also a singer-songwriter and one-half of the two-man band FogDog, known for its soulful blend of folk blues and acoustic rock.
Matt creates music that encourages healing, growth, and resilience, often drawing upon his personal journey of recovery from psychosis. He performs at local and national events to raise awareness and fight stigma around mental health issues.
Matt has experienced both sides of the mental health system. He went from being a patient in a psychiatric crisis unit to working as an outreach worker and therapist.
Throughout his journey, Matt has gained insight into the mental health system from various perspectives. His personal experiences drive him to help others find hope and purpose. He wants to improve understanding, promote healing, and build a stronger, more connected community through his work.
