2024 Healthy Future Report: Creating the Future We Want to See

At Teva, we are all in for better health. This starts at the core of our business by providing medicines for people around the world. We also help more patients get those medicines, minimize climate impacts that threaten our collective well-being and run our business responsibly. This supports the health of people and the planet and makes Teva more resilient so we can continue providing essential medicines for years to come.

Our newly released 2024 Healthy Future Report shows the steps we’re taking for the health of people, the planet and our business. Here’s a preview.

Healthy People

“Everyone deserves access to the medicines they need and a well-functioning and resilient healthcare system. We work tirelessly to break barriers, expand access and support communities in need.”
Yonina Fleischman, Sr. Director, Global Head of Health Equity & Access

9 total programs providing medicines to people in need

A significant portion of the global population lacks access to medicines and strong healthcare systems. In 2024, we launched two new programs (for a total of nine) focused on getting medicines to people who wouldn't otherwise have them, surpassing our target of eight by 2025. Five programs go beyond providing medicines to also strengthen healthcare systems, including through community outreach and healthcare provider trainings. Through all these programs, we reached 187,000 patients worldwide and provided 20 million doses of medicines.

Healthy Planet

“A healthier world starts with a healthier planet. We are cutting emissions, ensuring clean discharges, conserving resources and making sustainable choices to protect future generations.”
Josh Decktor, VP, Head of Global Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S)

29% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from Teva operations

Since 2019, we've reduced greenhouse gas emissions from our operations by 29%, already exceeding our 2025 target of 25%. And now, 47% of our electricity comes from renewable sources. We also prioritize responsible practices for antibiotics, as we know pharmaceutical waste can harm wildlife, nature and people and contribute to antimicrobial resistance (when antibiotics stop working as intended). 73% of applicable Teva sites have achieved safe discharge levels of antibiotics, and we’re committed to reaching 100% by 2035.

Healthy Business

“Doing what’s right is at the heart of Teva. We foster a culture of integrity—ensuring trust, accountability and ethical decisions in everything we do.”
Kathleen Veit, Senior VP, Global Compliance & Ethics Officer

42% of significant suppliers evaluated on sustainability performance

The way we do business matters. All active employees are trained on compliance and ethics, and our focus on integrity and transparency extends beyond our walls. Nearly half (42%) of our significant suppliers have undergone sustainability performance evaluations, and our third-party due diligence tool assesses all submitted high-risk business partners. Some of our targets are also tied to sustainable finance instruments, which means that as we improve the health of people and the planet, we also contribute to Teva’s financial success. It’s our way of putting our money where our values are.

We hope you’ll take a look at our 2024 Healthy Future Report to find out how we’re creating the future we want to see.
