We are proud to announce our 2014 National Partnership with Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) to make health care services more readily available to uninsured patients around the country. Volunteers in Medicine is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities throughout the U.S. provide free primary health care clinics for uninsured individuals and families of all ages. Currently, there are 96 Volunteers in Medicine clinics in 29 states, providing free health care services to thousands of people without access to care. These clinics provide general primary care, medications and patient education programs, with some offering specialized services such as pediatrics, dentistry, ophthalmology and counseling.
As the effects of the Affordable Care Act become known in local communities, VIM clinics remain committed to serving those without access to health care. VIM patients have nowhere else to go for healthcare services: they earn too much to qualify for government assistance; work in low wage jobs that do not offer health insurance; or earn too little to purchase health insurance on their own. Teva is dedicated to helping VIM provide assistance to these patients, and making a difference in communities where we live and work.
Teva’s partnership will assist and support VIM in numerous ways. It will strengthen VIM’s ability to open additional clinics across the US, increase support services to VIM Alliance clinics, and promote awareness of VIM. In addition, Teva will provide monetary gifts to individual VIM clinics located in areas where Teva has a business presence. Most importantly, the partnership’s focus is at the heart of Teva, enabling thousands of patients in need to obtain high quality medical and dental care.
We look forward to working together with Volunteers in Medicine in 2014, providing access to quality healthcare to uninsured patients around the country.
