Professional Career

Moshe Shamir served as Teva's Chairman of the Board from 1978 to 1993. He initially served on the Board of Assia Pharmaceutical Industries, and after a series of mergers and acquisitions he became a Director - and later Chairman - of Teva.


Since 1969, Shamir has served as Vice President of Vishay Intertechnology, the largest manufacturer of passive electronic components in the world, and as President of Vishay Israel, which he established.


Mr. Shamir has served in various other prominent roles in the Israeli business and educational arena, such as President of Israeli Friends of the Tel-Aviv University, Deputy Chairman of the Tel-Aviv University Board of Governors, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Children's Medical Center, member of the Presidium of the Israel-American Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Organization of Foreign Investors in Israel and President of the Commerce and Industry Club.
